16 DECEMBER 2016 - Thanks to the efforts of Archie Mullin, the Senior and Masters Christmas luncheon was fortunate to have Dennis Beyak drop by the Club for a very nice meal, comraderie and highly entertaining discussion on the sport of hockey past and present. The 100 or so in attendance were absolutely enthralled by his very polished presentation and willingness to field questions from the floor. Dennis received a club pin and a small token of appreciation from the Seniors and Masters. His follow up E-Mail confirmed that he had a wonderful time with a great bunch of guys and a terrific audience (many of whom he was able to connect with through his Manitoba roots and various encounters over the years).

Pictured are just a few of those in attendance along with Shannon from the bar staff.

Please note that the facility will be closed effective 23 Dec 2016 - 02 Jan 2017 inclusive.

Have a safe and happy festive season with a reminder that the Rock Engraving fund raiser is a great way to contribute to the future of our great facility.

In keeping with their long time, generous support of our great facility the Friday Morning Seniors recently donated a measuring stick to replace the somewhat unreliable unit utilized at the home end. The financial and volunteer support provided by members of this League, and many others who curl during the day, is paramount to the ongoing operation of the AMCC.

Hopefully other demographics will step into the hack and ensure that the AMCC volunteer spirit continues to be the envy of so many other curling clubs.

Following four days of high level competition, showcasing 21 top female teams representing Japan, Scotland, USA and Canada, AMCC's  Team Peterson drew the button for a 7-6 win over defending champions Team Robertson thereby earning a cheque for $4,000.

(To no surprize) the hardworking staff and 30 or so volunteers delivered another first class event at the Home Of Champions.  Title sponsor, Atkins Curling Supplies, and the many partner sponsors were very generous in providing the level of financial support commensurate with attracting teams competing for cash and acquiring points to improve their standings on the MCT, WCT and CTRS.  Rob's expert assistance, both in planning and executing the Event, was instrumental in achieving the desired results.

Although spectator support (particularly from the Club membership) could have been better, the Event nevertheless generated fairly decent revenues for future utilization by the Club.  Atkins Curling Supplies may be returning to the AMCC for an even bigger and better event in the 2017/18 curling season.
